Description
Indulge in the creamy, custardy goodness of Burnt Basque Cheesecake made in a loaf pan. Perfectly caramelized on the outside and rich on the inside, it’s an easy dessert that impresses everyone.
Ingredients
Scale
1 1/2 cups cream cheese
softened (full-fat)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
room temperature
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper, allowing excess to hang over the sides.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Mix in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt until combined.
- Sift the all-purpose flour over the mixture and gently fold it in until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is dark brown and the center is still slightly jiggly.
- Let the cheesecake cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes, then lift it out using the parchment paper and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a more pronounced burnt flavor, allow the cheesecake to brown more in the oven, but keep an eye on it to avoid burning completely. This cheesecake can be served plain or with a drizzle of caramel or fresh berries.
