Ingredients
Chicken:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to even ¾-inch thickness)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper (or ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper)
Garlic Herb Butter:
½ cup butter (slightly softened)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh parsle
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or finely chopped fresh basil)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 475°F.

Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and drizzle in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Sear chicken for 2–4 minutes per side, until golden brown but not fully cooked.

Transfer skillet to the oven (or move chicken to a greased baking dish if using a non-oven-safe skillet).

Bake for about 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

While chicken bakes, mix softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, cilantro, and thyme in a bowl until combined.

Remove chicken from the oven and immediately top with a generous spoonful of the garlic herb butter.
