Description

Juicy grilled chicken breasts seared to perfection and finished in the oven, then topped with a luxurious garlic herb butter made with fresh herbs and real butter. This restaurant-quality dish is easy to make, perfect for weeknights, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken:

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to even ¾-inch thickness)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper (or ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper)

Garlic Herb Butter:

½ cup butter (slightly softened)

2 teaspoons minced garlic

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh parsle

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh cilantro

1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or finely chopped fresh basil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F.

  2. Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and drizzle in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

  4. Sear chicken for 2–4 minutes per side, until golden brown but not fully cooked.

  5. Transfer skillet to the oven (or move chicken to a greased baking dish if using a non-oven-safe skillet).

  6. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  7. While chicken bakes, mix softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, cilantro, and thyme in a bowl until combined.

  8. Remove chicken from the oven and immediately top with a generous spoonful of the garlic herb butter.

  9. Rest chicken for 5 minutes before serving.
