Ingredients

Scale

For the Turkey Burgers

20 oz. ground turkey (white and dark meat blend)

½ medium onion, finely diced

1 garlic clove, minced

Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper (a bit more than a pinch)

¼ cup Country Bob’s Regular All Purpose Sauce (or substitute with your favorite BBQ sauce or A-1)

3 slices Pepper Jack Cheese (folded or cubed for stuffing)

Olive oil for pan-frying

Buns and desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, sauce, pickles, etc.)

For the Sweet Potato Fries

2 large sweet potatoes (washed, skin on)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Za’atar seasoning for finishing (optional but recommended)

Instructions

  1. Step 1 – Prepare the Turkey Burger Patties

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, diced onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and sauce.

    2. Gently mix until just combined—do not overwork.

    3. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape into thin patties.

    4. Place a folded or cubed slice of Pepper Jack cheese in the center of 3 patties.

    5. Top with remaining patties and carefully seal the edges to encase the cheese.

Step 2 – Cook the Turkey Burgers

    1. Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil.

    2. Add burgers and cook for 5 minutes on the first side until golden.

    3. Flip and cook another 4–5 minutes, or until the internal temp reaches 165°F.

    4. Remove from pan and rest for 3 minutes.

Step 3 – Prepare the Sweet Potato Fries

    1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

    2. Slice sweet potatoes into thick wedges (about ½ inch thick).

    3. Toss wedges in olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional za’atar.

    4. Spread on a nonstick baking sheet in a single layer without crowding.

    5. Bake for 15 minutes, flip each fry, and bake for another 10–15 minutes or until crispy and browned.

Step 4 – Serve and Enjoy

    1. Place each burger on a bun, top with warm sauce and desired toppings.

    2. Serve with crispy sweet potato fries and extra dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Cheese: Pepper Jack melts beautifully, but feel free to try Havarti or sharp cheddar.

  • Fries: Za’atar adds herby warmth—great for balance against the burger’s richness.

  • Storage: Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for 1 month.
